Canna Patel

Canna Patel is a renowned Architect & Interior Designer with over 30 years of professional experience. She is the founder & chairperson at HCP Interior Design Pvt. Ltd., a multi-disciplinary design practice based in Ahmedabad. Having focussed on interior design early in her career, Canna’s abundant experience in the field of design and exposure to life have moulded her to embody a unique combination of highest standards from the west, and the beautiful orderly chaos of our different Indian cultures and its patterns. She is known for her unique style that seamlessly blends interiors with architectural forms and spaces. She has worked on more than 300 interior projects, primarily focussing on private residences, corporate offices, hospitality projects and institutional buildings including the architecture & interiors for the Alliance Francoise Building in Ahmedabad that serves as the official French Centre for the city of Ahmedabad.

In the past decade she has contributed towards small and large-scale government projects that includes renovation of Raj Bhawan at Gandhinagar, Swarnim Sankul (Central Secretariat) at Gandhinagar and BJP Karyalay in New Delhi. She is currently serving as the Interior sub-consultant for the prestigious Central Vista Project in New Delhi, which includes the recently inaugurated New Parliament Building among other stately residences and Common Central Secretariat.

As a veteran of the industry, Canna has continuously evolved as a designer and professional. In this stride, she has contributed towards the design development for the renovation of the interiors of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad in 2021-22. She played a key role in the upliftment exercise of 16 Metro Stations in the city of Ahmedabad which were inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in October 2022, designing large scale artworks for the station, and contributing towards overall facelifting of the stations.

Over the years, Canna’s works have been widely published across reputed design magazines and she has recently been shortlisted by Forbes India in ‘The Bold Club: India’s Top 30 Architects’. Termed as the ‘Doyen of Design’ in a recent cover story by Architects & Interiors India – Canna herself has truly emerged as a brand of Interior Design in India.
